Vtg 1998 Special Times Santa Sleigh Reindeer LIGHTS MOVES SOUNDS SEE VIDEO READ. This is an INDOOR-ONLY Display Piece note: I took the pictures for this listing of Santa outside on our porch only because it was convenient at the time.
My wife had just brought him and the outside porch tree down from storage, is all. He is an INDOOR-ONLY Display. Santa and the Sleigh, and The Reindeer and it's base, have their own individual electrical plugs (2 plugs total).
Oddly enough, the status of 1998 technology has the sound/music being powered by batteries ONLY, the compartment of which is located under the sleigh. The battery compartment is clean and free of any discharged batteries from times gone by. It takes two size'C' batteries, not included. Watch the video in this listing to see and hear the moving and the sound. Comes with the original Box. Santa's Head and Right Arm Moves. Santa's motor makes a knocking noise, but Santa's moving action is smooth. We've had this Santa for several years, and he's always had the knocking noise. We got him second hand, and he came that way. There isn't an Instruction Sheet, not that you need one.To use the technical jargon, the Sleigh's'Tongue', or it's'Reach', the two plastic gold colored arms that extend from the sleigh to the reindeer, and an arch-like harness with bells, that connected the two tongues, and which hung on the reindeer's back, have long since been broken. It came that way when we got it several years ago. Since, if you'Google'-Search images of Santa in his sleigh with reindeer, you get almost ALL of them depicting Santa's Sleigh without tongues, or reaches, I'm thinking that the ones missing from this display don't really make a difference. I've included 3 pictures in the listing from Google images showing what I mean. Lastly we got the Sleigh in somewhat of a'dirty' condition and have never cleaned it up.
As nice as it appears, I'm guessing that he'll clean up, and look just that much better. I do recall that the people we got this from were chain smokers, but know that we are not smokers, and that there does not appear to be any smoke odor about this item, nor the box. The box shows that this was'distributed' by BJWC, of Massachusetts USA, but I don't know if it was'MADE' in the USA. There might be other small cracks, scratches, marks, missing pieces, but they're not noticeable and not worth mentioning separately. Please look closely at pictures, and please access a desktop pc monitor so that you can enlarge the pictures to get an accurate view of the items.
