Vintage SANTA REINDEER & SLEIGH CELLULOID & TIN WIND-UP Christmas Occupied Japan

  

This is a vintage wind up toy made in Occupied Japan (late 1940's or early 1950's). It features a celluloid plastic Santa figure in a tin sleigh being pulled by a plastic reindeer. When wound, the sleigh moves in a wide circle and as it moves, the reindeer prances up and down and a bell rings. The wind up works great and comes with wind up key. It does show some wear from age and use, though I did not try to clean it.

They should probably be glued to the reindeer once received, since the holes have a few small cracks and could enlarge (making the antlers more loose or not holding them at all). The sleigh is stamped on the bottom, "MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN".

It measures about 7 inches long and about 1 3/4 inches wide. Please carefully review the multiple photos for more details.
