Vintage CHRISTMAS 1950s Hooked SANTA, SLEIGH & REINDEER Holiday 38" x 20" Rug. Wonderful vintage hand hooked woven cotton chenille wool holiday rug measuring about 38" long by 20" deep.

Featuring an adorable image of a Reindeer drawn sleigh complete with waving Santa under a grinning full moon. Lots of charming detail, from the toys spilling out of the sleigh back, to the long whip in Santa's mitten - border is black and ground is soft cream/grey/blue.

Condition is very nice with no tears, holes, unraveling, etc. Two back edges, at some point in the life of the rug, were reinforced with black binding to stabilize - does not show from the front. There is light usage and age related wear, including light staining, a few tiny spots and faint soiling. I think a lot can be forgiven - this is such an unusual vintage rug - guessing it dates 1940s-1950s in era. A wonderful retro slice of what the holidays used to be -- perfect for a harvest table top (how it has always been displayed) or even wall hung - fun addition to any Christmas display!
