Vintage Belsnickle Santa Claus Cotton Wood Clay Wicker Reindeer Sleigh Japan

  

Here is an authentic post war Santa Claus in a sleigh pulled by one reindeer. It measures 8 inches long overall, and is 3 inches tall.

The Santa is made of spun cotton, felt like fabric, and has a clay face. The sled is wood, and I think the reindeer is a pressed wood composition type material.

Santa sits on a pile of faux fir tree branches. The deer is missing one antler, and the other is bent and misshapen. Santa's hat may be missing a ball on the end. It is otherwise in good vintage condition with expected wear and original patina.

The bottom of the sled is ink stamped, Made in Japan. Please review the photos for a complete description. We are always obtaining interesting pieces and have a seemingly endless number of jewelry, antiques and collectibles.

We do not know color or clarity, and do not know natural from heated, enhanced, or synthetic. We either rely upon marks for metal purity, or test for gold content. Whatever we say the metal purity is 14K, 18K, 925 Sterling, etc.

We do not collect these items, and we are NOT experts in the field. We appreciate any information you may have to assist us in identifying, or toward providing a more accurate description, but we do require some authority for the information. We provide a lot of photos, but please ask questions if you have them. We package in the highest grade materials including new, previously unused bubble wrap and styrofoam peanuts. Please know your country's importation laws and restrictions.
