Nestled in the wooded countryside of Sutton, Massachusetts, Vaillancourt Folk Art captures the magic of Christmas throughout the year. Century New England farmhouse, collectible chalkware Santas and Father Christmases are created in limited editions, through Gary and Judi Vaillancourts special vision. Each chalkware figurine portrays a distinctive character that recalls a rich heritage of holidays gone by, captured in a collectible piece whose value will last for generations. Chalkware, once known a poor mans Staffordshire, has risen to new heights in the realm of collectible American folk art. Judi Vaillancourt, the designer behind Vaillancourt Folk Art, ha adapted the centuries-old craft to create lifelike figurines, cast from antique chocolate and ice-cream molds.

Chocolate moulds from the late 19. Centuries were predominantly made in Europe by master craftsmen. Century Germany was populated by a vast array of talented artisans, the acknowledged master moulder was Anton Reiche.

Reiche employed many of the finest mould makers in his own factory where, under his supervision, they produced the moulds that inspire the creative genius of Judi Vaillancourt. DO NOT wash your Vaillancourt Folk Art Chalkware.

Wipe gently, only with a clean, dry, soft cloth. DO NOT subject chalkware to extreme temperature changes, as the finish could be affected. Never put price stickers on the bottom of chalkware pieces, as it is not varnished. In Southern and humid climates, Vallaincourt Originals should NOT be placed in areas where insects might have access. Sprinkling boric acid crystals near chalfware pieces have proven helpful.
