RARE Antique Jaburg Brothers Santa in Sleigh with Reindeer Chocolate Mold 99

  
RARE ANTIQUE JABURG BROTHERS #99 SANTA IN SLEIGH WITH REINDEER CHOCOLATE MOLD - CIRCA 1920. The design features a German style Santa sitting in a sleigh led by a reindeer. The mold measures about 8 1/2" long, 4 1/4" tall, and is 1 1/2 wide at the bottom.

This chocolate mold is pictured in the book. The Comprehensive Guide to Chocolate Molds. Mullen attributes the mold to the Jaburg Brothers "circa 1920". Jaburg Brothers was founded in 1885 in New York City by the sons of German seafaring legend Addig Jaburg. They became very successful merchants in New York City and a prominent supplier of bakery equipment and supplies, including chocolate molds.

Their motto was "The Best of Everything for Bakers". They manufactured their own molds and also imported molds from Germany. The company is believed to have ceased production of their chocolate molds around the 1930s. Condition of this antique chocolate mold is EXCELLENT with no dents or structural damage. There are a few expected discoloration spots on the metal. The mold comes with 2 closure clips that appear to be original to the piece. I doubt that this mold was used very much. Overall, it looks fantastic and would make a fine addition to any collection. Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself.
