Antique/vintage Santa Sleigh, Reindeer, Bottlebrush Tree, Silk Flag, Japan, Vgc, Nr

  

This is an antique/vintage Santa, sleigh and reindeer. The sleigh is filled with toys. Everything is in very good vintage condition. The Santa is Japan, but doesn't have a label.

He has a clay face and hands, and black composition boots. His suit is red wool flannel trimmed in narrow white chenille edging.

He has hand painted features (blue eyes) and a white cotton beard. Which is not attached (picture 10). Santa measures 3.75 in height in the seated position.

His legs and feet are an additional 1.75 if standing. He measures 2 1/8" in width, and 1 1/8" in depth. The sleigh is very sturdy cardboard or lightweight balsa wood, also from Japan, but not marked. It measures 5.5" in length, 1 7/8" in width, and 2 7/8 in height. It is in very good condition.

Picture 8 shows the inside of the sleigh, while picture 9 shows the bottom of the sleigh. The difference is color is due to my irregular lighting, and not the sleigh.

The reindeer is celluloid and very realistic in his coloring. He is embossed Japan on his underside and there is also a partial label there (not shown). He measures 5 5/8" in length, 1.5" in width, and 4.75 in height. He has red glass eyes. There is a small chip out of the bottom of his right rear foot.

It doesn't show when standing, and doesn't affect his standing. It isn't shown in the pictures. Picture 11 shows all 10 pieces out of the sleigh and on their own. In the sleigh is a tiny silk American flag with its gold metal pole that has a ball on the top of it.

The flag itself measures 3" x 2". It has its original "Made in Occupied Japan" label.

The bottle brush tree has tiny mercury glass beads as ornaments. It measures 3.75" in height including wired stem and wooden domed base, and 1.75" both in width and in depth.

There is a wooden house with a red roof (Germany) that measures 1.5" x 1.5" x. There is a wooden doll with arms and legs that move wearing a crepe paper dress. She measures 3 1/8" in length, 1 1/8" in width, and. She has a "Made in Italy" sticker on her back.

There is a wooden dog that is tan with black spots and a red collar (Germany). He measures 1.75" in length, 1.5" in height, and 3/8 in width. There is a celluloid tiger. He measures 2" in length, 1" in height, and. He can stand on his own, but may need some help in getting there.
