Antique Santa Claus Sleigh n Reindeer Team Composition Germany Reindeer Harness

  

Were offering this set of gorgeous old German compo reindeer with lead antlers, a compo and felt Santa, and a mica-glittered cardboard sleigh. Some previous owner composited this set, as there is some variation in age, but all are antique-to-vintage and the pieces are properly sized to look great together. The reindeer are the stars, with beautifully colored and glazed bodies that still have most of the original paper harness These reindeer are all complete with the exception of one missing ear. Some of the lead antlers have been professionally restored. The restorer also made some custom-dyed reins to match the harness, which will be included.

Each deer measures just under 4 ½ long and is about 4 tall to the antlers, posed as shown. These are lead antlers and can be carefully adjusted for position.

Please judge for yourself, but they are certainly of German origin. Santa has clay head, hands and feet. His body is felt with a rolled cardboard center.

There is a bit of sharp wood protruding in the rump region, which I think is meant to secure him to his sleigh, although he is rather stiff to seat. In good condition, he measures 4 ¾ high. With light wear but structurally sound and pretty good finish, it measures about 7 x 3 ¼. This set will make a standout mantle or tabletop display for your Christmas decorating.
