ANTIQUE AAFA AMERICAN SANTA IN SLEIGH WITH REINDEER c1900WONDERFUL

  

AMAZING EARLY SANTA, SLEIGH, REINDEER! RARE early Santa Claus in red wooden wagon and deer c1900. A unique and special piece! The sleigh is made of wood with a metal frame. It is marked "HUDSON USA" in the metal framework (see photo).

Another neat thing is that when we removed Santa from his sleigh, we discovered an original 20 cents sticker on his foot! Santa holds his feather tree which is connected to a chain that hangs around the neck of his deer. Santa also holds an antique wooden 2 inch Polar Bear in his other hand. He is made of composition and has a rabbit fur beard and nice painted facial details. He wears a red felt coat, blue felt pants, few little scuff marks on his boots.

Overall condition of this Santa is excellent! The deer is beautiful with nice molded details, metal antlers, and piercing yellow painted eyes. Not sure what he is made of... Some type of texture to his body.

A nice old rusty chain hangs around his neck holding a bell. The deer is in excellent condition! See all photos, which are an important part of the description.

Condition of the sled is overall very good. The only damage is where the metal bar on the front left side has separated (last photo). It needs to be soldered to be fixed, however, it is not noticeable when it's on display as it leans in place just fine. Measures: 12 from nose of deer to end of sled.
