1920's Germany Christmas Toy Santa in Sleigh pulled by 8 Lead Reindeer on Board

  

View my other auctions for many other early toys being listed. This is a very nice large 24 long Christmas Santa in Sleigh and his Reindeer display.

This may have been handmade a long time ago, part of a display, or actual decor made for sale. It features eight standing lead reindeer pulling the sleigh. These reindeer are early 1920's finely cast and painted lead reindeer that are all embossed GERMANY down their hind quarter. Each reindeer measures approximately 3.5" long x 3.5" tall. They are held onto the board by twisted wire from under the board that is twisted around their ankles. The 5.5 long sleigh appears to be solid brass with fine details. Nicely curved rails with red sides. In the seat is a 6 Santa figure. The board is covered in a pebbly fake snow painted white surface.

This comes in a custom fitted box that someone made long ago out of an old Corning fiberglass box, or maybe this was a giveaway prize? CONDITION: This is in very nice condition.
